Non-surgical eye disease, complex contact lens fitting as well as managing and treating pre and post-operative eye care patients.
Dr. Chelsky attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies and received her Doctor of Optometry from Ferris State University College of Optometry in 1986, graduating with highest honors. Dr. Chelsky then completed a residency in hospital-based optometry at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1987.
Prior to joining Verdier Eye Center in 1994, Dr. Chelsky taught at both the Illinois College of Optometry (from 1987-1988) and then at the College of Optometry at Ferris State University (from 1991-1994), where she was an Associate Professor.
Dr. Chelsky is a member of the West Michigan Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is an adjunct professor of optometry at Ferris State University and often serves as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Chelsky specializes in the nonsurgical treatment and managemement of eye disease. Additionally, Dr. Chelsky is involved in the fitting of specialty contact lenses for patients that have complex corneal problems, such as keratoconus or those patients with a corneal transplant. Dr. Chelsky also provides pre-operative and post-operative care for patients who need cataract removal, corneal surgery and for those patients who have received a corneal transplant.
