Dr. Renucci moved to Grand Rapids with her family in 2002 having completed nearly 10 years of experience in prestigious residency and specialty training programs. Before joining Verdier Eye Center, P.L.C., Dr. Renucci had already distinguished herself in the field of ophthalmology with both her academic achievement and esteemed training experience. Dr. Renucci graduated with academic distinction from Harvard University in 1992. After graduation, she spent a year doing biomedical research at Harvard Medical School. She went on to excel in medical school at Columbia University in New York City where she received her medical degree in 1997.

After completing an internship in New York City, Dr. Renucci began her ophthalmology training at the University of California in San Francisco. She completed her training in Chicago at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. While in Chicago, she was elected Chief Resident. Following residency, Dr. Renucci spent an additional year of highly sub-specialized fellowship training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. This experience refined her passion for conditions involving the cornea and front layers of the eye including corneal surgery and transplantation, and cataract surgery. Dr. Renucci’s in-depth surgical and clinical training has developed into a practice, which includes comprehensive ophthalmology with a focus on corneal surgery and transplantation, and cataract surgery.

Dr. Renucci remains active in academic medicine and has authored numerous journal articles and a textbook chapter. Her continued interest in education has led her to become involved in medical student and resident training; she also volunteers in a local clinic for low income and uninsured patients. Dr. Renucci builds caring professional relationships with patients based on communication and sensitivity. She is compassionate, understanding, and committed to excellence.
