Dr. Verdier has published numerous articles and textbook chapters, including the chapter on corneal transplantation in the world’s foremost corneal textbook. His surgical techniques have been published in video chapters on corneal transplantation and cataract surgery. He is actively involved in lecturing and research to improve medical and surgical eye care. He is recognized by his peers as a member of The Best Doctors in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Medicine and Health Care, and Who’s Who in American Education.

In 1984 Dr. Verdier brought to West Michigan the subspecialty skills of modern corneal transplantation. He subspecializes in cornea and external eye diseases – a subspecialty which provides expertise in corneal diseases and surgical procedures, including corneal transplantation, cataract removal and intraocular lens implantation, and laser and refractive surgery. Dr. Verdier is a Clinical Professor of Surgery, Michigan State University. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan undergraduate and medical schools. He completed a Family Practice Residency in Charleston, South Carolina, followed by his residency in Ophthalmology in Pittsburgh, then fellowship training in Cornea and External Eye Disease at the University of Iowa.
