Dr. Marentette joined our practice in 2025. He is an optometrist—an optometric doctor (O.D.) licensed to examine eyes, diagnose, and provide non-surgical treatment of eye disease and vision disorders.
Dr. Marentette specializes in the medical management of corneal and ocular surface disease, including dry eye, keratitis, and pre- and post-operative care for corneal procedures and transplants. He has extensive experience in managing complex anterior segment conditions and collaborating in surgical co-management.
Dr. Marentette completed his undergraduate education in vision science with honors at Grand Valley State University. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree magna cum laude from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University.
Following graduation, Dr. Marentette completed a 13-month post-doctoral residency in ocular disease at CEI, where he managed a high volume of patients across multiple subspecialties. He then remained with CEI as the lead optometrist of the ocular surface disease clinic, focusing on advanced dry eye, cornea, and stem cell transplant.
Dr. Marentette has a strong interest in corneal disease and transplant management, including perioperative care and long-term follow-up of surgical patients.
