Dr. Marentette joined our practice in 2025. He is an optometrist-an optometric doctor (O.D.) licensed to examine eyes, diagnose, and provide non-surgical treatment of eye disease and vision defects. He specializes in the medical management of cornea, glaucoma, other non-surgical eye diseases, and post-operative care.

Dr. Marentette completed his undergraduate education in vision science with honors at Grand Valley State University and the Michigan Optometry College of Optometry. He went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University, where he graduated magna cum laude.

While in school, he was heavily involved in leadership roles as the president of Student Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) and the Contact Lens Club. He was also selected to join the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. During his training he completed clinical rotations at a number of eye care centers, including the Grand Rapids VA Medical Center, Cherry Health - Heart of the City Health Center in Grand Rapids, and the Michigan College of Optometry.

Following his graduation, he completed a 13-month post-Doctoral Residency Program in Ocular Disease at CEl. Throughout this year, he was trained in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, participating in over 3000 patient encounters in 9 different subspecialties. Dr. Marentette stayed on with the team at CEI for another year as the lead optometrist of the ocular surface disease clinic in Edgewood, Kentucky.

At the end of his residency year, Dr. Marentette participated in a mission trip providing eyecare to the underserved in Rwanda. While not at work, Dr. Marentette enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Dayna and his wiener dog Relish.
