Dr. McKey was raised in West Michigan. He graduated from Hope College with degrees in Chemistry and Spanish. He attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his internship at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado and his residency in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He pursued a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is a contributor to the 8th edition of the Wills Eye Manual which is a widely used resource throughout the field of ophthalmology.

Dr. McKey is passionate about providing excellent patient care. Outside of work Dr. McKey enjoys playing golf and tennis, cycling, skiing, reading, and spending time with his family.
